Homicide Investigator

Raptor’s Homicide Investigation course provides participants with advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful resolution of death investigations. Carefully selected case studies are used to explore every aspect of death investigations. The student will become familiar with the distinctions between cause and manner of death and the determinations of homicide, suicide, accidental and undetermined deaths. A particular focus will be on the actual mechanisms of death such as gunshot wounds, edged weapon injuries, blunt force trauma, drowning, burning, poisoning, and various forms of asphyxia.

This course is an intensive eighty-hour course delivered over 10 days. At the completion of the course, participants have the ability to differentiate between accidental, suicidal, and homicidal death.
